Ya know...sorrow happens to everybody! It used to happen to me a lot before I knew the Lord. But to be perfectly honest, I didn't stop dealing with sorrow just because I got saved...in fact looking back now I think my sorrow increased, because people I loved didn't want to hang around with me anymore with all that "religious stuff". And that hurt a lot. But I'm sure they thought I would soon get over it.
But you know what I found out was that over the years as I began to actually deal with sorrow rather than try to run away from it, and pray about it instead of being angry, I found that I had more and more strength and I was able to deal with each situation a little better...the sorrow is no longer devastating like it used to be. And it's been a very long time since I have felt hopeless AND I haven't considered suicide in a VERY long time.
And so , even though rejection, sorrow and loss still happens, and it still hurts my heart, I NEVER lose hope. Why? There's only ONE answer for that. JESUS has made all the difference in my life. As long as I have Jesus, I have hope, I have peace, I have the knowledge that no matter what may happen in this life, HE is still with me and HE has promised that He will bring me through. THAT is what has made all the difference to me! You may want to consider making Him the Lord of your life too. It's so wonderful to have someone you know is always going to be there for you no matter what!
