The Time is Near...

I believe we are so much closer to end-times prophecy being fulfilled than most people...even most Christians...are willing to think about. I believe we are at a time when we need to be paying close attention to everything that's going on in the world and how all the signs that we are warned about in scripture are right now falling into place. Jesus took great care to describe the signs we need to watch for...Paul was explicit when he told us what the world will be like, and John gave us a tremendous amount of information to watch for through the vision that was revealed to him. It's not like God is leaving us without warning. But He also requires that we should be studying His Word and pay attention to the signs and heeding the warnings that He has given us. If we are unprepared, that's on us, because we were not taking His warnings seriously. Jesus told us it would be the same as it was in the days of Noah. He gave us many parables to explain what the last of the last days would be like. The signs are all around us , but most people are going right on with life as usual. Woe unto those who are not prepared for what's coming ahead. Here is a parable we need to pay attention to:
“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [a]is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
“Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming." (Matthew 25:1-13)
