Scripture is very clear about the sequence of events leading up to the appearing of Christ in the air to receive His Followers also known as the Rapture. And when scripture talks about it, it also explains the events that are taking place on the earth at that time. For example, Matthew 24 talks about all the difficulty and persecution that is taking place on the earth and then it talks about the "abomination of desolation" appearing beginning with verse 15. And then...all the way down beginning in verse 29 it says (pay close attention to the words AFTER and THEN:
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:29-31)
Friends, we NEED to be watching and paying attention to the things that are going on in the world, because we must KNOW when the Beast of Revelation 13 arises, and we must KNOW when the Antichrist and the False Prophet arise. We have to be paying attention...because if we are not...we WILL be deceived. The scriptures tell us the whole world will be deceived by him...and ONLY by KNOWING God's Word and by paying attention to the signs He told us to watch for will we be able to recognize the Beast when it appears. John wrote in Revelation 13:
"Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:1-4)
